Well it's about time that I got my blog up and running. I have only had it for 6 months and never posted to it. So I will be playing catch-up for a while. It is hard to believe that we have been in West Texas for almost 3 months now. I can't believe we have been away from Houston for so long. It is funny how you fight and fight against something in your life yet over time they just become a part of you. We never planned to live in Houston very long but after 5 years I have some of the greatest memories, experiences and friends there. I will always miss Houston.
Well here is a little of what we have been up to this summer.
One week after arriving in Monahans we welcomed 20 baby chicks. What a learning experience! It's a good thing we have 9 acres and a chicken coop.
Then came the puppies. Yes that is plural PUPPIES! We just had to have two since we could not decide. They are blue heelers and hopefully they will help keep the snakes away. Yes you do have to worry about that here. This is Moe and Bubba. Bubba by the way potty trained this summer and now is a pro . YEAH Bubba!
p.s. We also got 2 baby cats at about this same time. They are also good at keeping snakes away and mousing. No pictures of them but we literally had a baby animal farm for a while. The kids loved it.
This is Maggie and Morgann. Morgee has lost a total of 5 teeth and has 3 more that are loose. She doesn't like wiggling them and she really hates pulling them. She starts school in just a few days and is sooooo ready. She wanted me to leave her at school when we went to meet her teacher. What a gal life is so much fun for her.
We have also been busy with swimming lessons for Mayci and Morgann. They are both officially swimmers. This is just such a pretty picture of Mayci I had to throw it in.
Mayci also celebrated her 7th Birthday shortly after we moved here. We just had family over but it was nice change because we have never lived close to family.
Bubba had his first major accident this summer. He fell while jumping on a blow up mattress in the girls room. He hit is mouth on the edge of the bunk bed and actually left 4 perfect teeth marks in the wood. I have never seen so much blood come from someones mouth. He managed to push his front upper teeth up and back. We went to the hospital and they said go see a dentist. We did that and he told us Malcham's front teeth are dead and they will turn gray but should not fall out. So now we have a child with gray teeth in his head for the next 3 to 4 years. He looked so funny after the accident. It really altered his appearance for some time. Poor baby.
And last but not least I was able to go to California for my youngest brother Denton's wedding. It was beautiful and they were sealed in the San Diego Temple. The nicest part.... Mama was in California for 4 days by herself. It was nice to have a little me time but I was ready to get back to the kids.
Since then were just getting ready for school and feeding the neighbors baby cow while they are on vacation. Gotta love West Texas!

(I can say that b/c I'm in the South...) Maybe he'll lose them as fast as Morgie. And not as slow as Caleb's CT friend who lost his first tooth in 3rd grade! Email me!
